Milliken History Tidbit

Here is an interesting tidbit of local Milliken History.

 "Jackrabbit Trail" was originally designated to the portion of SH 257 between US 34 and SH 60 beginning in the late 1930s; it is even shown on the USGS topography map of that area.  This is a trail that was known by the locals as “Jackrabbit Trail” until the late 1970’s.  In 1981 Milliken annexed the old route of 257 and called it the “Jackrabbit Road” annexation.

 The trail has local historical significance, and Milliken wants to honor its history.  "Jackrabbit Trail" Signs have been installed on each side of SH 257 north of Milliken.
