NOTICE OF REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION
MAIL BALLOT ELECTION
TOWN OF MILLIKEN
APRIL 2, 2024

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Town of Milliken will hold its regular municipal election for the purpose of electing four (4) members of the Board of Trustees; one (1) for Mayor and three (3) Trustees for four-year terms on Tuesday, April 2, 2024. The election will be held as a mail-ballot election. All Registered Voters will receive a mail ballot shortly after
March 11, 2024.

Ballots may be dropped off at the Milliken Town Hall, 1101 Broad Street, Milliken, Colorado 80543, March 11, 2024 – April 1, 2024, Monday-Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM and 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM on Election Day, Tuesday, April 2, 2024.  There is a 24-hour ballot box located in the East Side parking lot of Town Hall where Ballots can also be dropped off.

In order to be eligible to vote in this election, a person must be 18 years old, a citizen of the United States, a resident of the Town of Milliken at least 22 days preceding the date of election and be registered to vote in the Town of Milliken.

At said election, the electors of the Town of Milliken shall vote for the following candidate(s):

Completed ballots must be returned in the envelopes provided.  Ballots returned by US Mail must have adequate postage affixed. Voters must sign and date the return envelope; if this information is not complete, the ballot will not be counted.

Any voter needing a replacement ballot may come to the Town Clerk’s office between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, through April 1, 2024, or between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. on April 2, 2024, and obtain said ballot.

Any voter who will be absent from his/her residence during the mailing period for ballots may contact the Town Clerk at 1101 Broad Street, Milliken, CO between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, to make an application for an alternate mailing address.  Application must be made no later than 5:00 p.m. on March 29, 2024.

MILLIKEN TO HOLD TOWN BOARD ELECTION

The Town of Milliken will hold an election for four (4) positions on the Board of Trustees on April 2, 2024.  There is one (1) Mayor position and there are three (3) Trustee positions available, all of which are for four-year terms.


Qualifications for the positions include:  1) 18 years of age; 2) a Registered Elector in the Town of Milliken; 3) shall have resided in the Town of Milliken for a period of at least 12 consecutive months, except that, in the case of annexation, any person who has resided in the annexed territory for the time prescribed meets the residency requirement.  Continued residency is required for Trustees.

Board Members are required to attend the work sessions at 5:00 p.m. and regular board meetings at 6:30 p.m. on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month.  The Mayor shall receive $300.00 and the Board of Trustees shall receive $150.00 for each regular or special meetings of the Board of Trustees which he or she attends, and action is taken.

Candidates must obtain and submit a Petition to the Town Clerk for inclusion on the ballot.  Petition packets may be obtained at the Town Clerk’s Office at Milliken Town Hall at 1101 Broad Street, Milliken, beginning Tuesday, January 02, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., and must be returned no later than 5:00p.m. on Monday, January 22, 2024.
